Cocktails to Keep You Cozy and Impress Your Valentine
Sparkling wine, champagne, or a fine red wine are all lovely
options come Valentine’s Day, but why not shake things up and create a cocktail
that is sure to keep the home fires burning. Don’t get us wrong we understand
the careful, or last minute, planning that can go into finding the right bottle
for the occasion, but there’s something extra special about having someone take
the time to mix a drink especially for you. So channel your inner mixologist
and impress your Valentine by mixing up one of these cocktails.
Jack Daniels Fire Hot
The perfect post dinner cocktail, imagine being curled up
next to a fireplace sipping this sweet and spicy concoction with your
sweetheart. The cinnamon flavour of the whisky and the sweetness of the apple
cider will have you both blushing in no time, plus we all know what they say
1 cup Jack Daniels Tennessee Fire
2 Sliced Apples
1 ½ Cup Apple Cider, Divided
2 tbsp. Mulling Spice
Sugar, Cinnamon Stick
Slice up your apples and place in a bowl. Add the 1 cup Jack
Daniels and ½ a cup apple cider. Soak for at least 12 hours. (Make sure apples
are submerged. Add more Jack if needed)
Once apples are soaked and ready, it’s time to start mixing!
Heat up your cup of apple cider until hot. Add the 2 tbsp. of mulling spice
until well blended.
Take a small glass and dip the rim in cider and then in brown
sugar to make a sugared rim. Drop 2-3 Jack apples into your cup. In a shaker,
mix 1 shot of the Jack from the apple bowl and 2 shots of the warm cider. Shake
and pour over apple slices. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and enjoy!
CÎROC Apple Martini
Don’t worry procrastinators; we have a cocktail for you. This
sweet twist on a vodka martini from CÎROC is a modern classic. Simple, elegant
and doesn’t require much prep, this cocktail is sure to save you from sleeping
on the couch if you forget about Valentine’s.
1 ½ oz. CÎROC Apple
1 Green Apple (for garnish)
Place ice in shaker (use judgement). Pour 1 ½ oz. of CÎROC
Apple over ice. Shake and double-strain, then pour into martini glass. Garnish
with green apple et voila!
Tip: If your valentine is not a fan of straight liquor add a
dash of cranberry juice.
Light My Fire
Whisky cocktails are everywhere and with a name like this
how can you go wrong. Made with single malt Scotch, the “Light My Fire” is sure
to set the mood, just don’t forget to light the candles.
1 ¾ oz. Talisker Port Ruighe Scotch Whisky
1 tbsp. Brown Sugar
1 wedge(s) Lemon
1 slice(s) Green Apple
3 ½ oz. Cloudy Apple Juice
Cut a lemon wedge.
Take the wedge of lemon and rub over the rim of the glass.
Dip the rim of the glass in brown sugar.
Pour in Talisker Port Ruighe and cloudy apple juice.
Garnish with a slice of apple.
