LIQUOR STORES GP INC. - PRIVACY

Why Do We Have A Privacy
Policy?
At Liquor Stores GP Inc, we
believe in building relationships with our customers that are based on
trust and respect. Establishing trust and respect involves our
telling you what personal information we need to collect from you, how
this information will be handled, and how this information will be kept
safe.
The purpose of this document is to inform our
clients of:
- our information handling practices;
- the reasons for these practices;

personal information; and
- your role in controlling your own personal
information.
This policy applies to Liquor
Stores GP Inc. and its subsidiaries, (collectively Liquor Stores Limited
Partnership, Liquor Barn GP Inc., Liquor Barn Limited Partnership and
their subsidiaries are referred to herein as 'Liquor Stores'). The
policy also applies to any person providing services on our
behalf.
What Is Personal
Information?
Personal information is
information about an identifiable individual. This includes an individual
s name, home address, home phone number, age, sex, marital or family
status, an identifying number, educational history, financial information,
photographs and videos of an individual.
Collecting Personal
Information
In order to provide our wide
variety of services, products, and promotions, we may collect the
following personal information from our clients when necessary:
- contact and mailing information such as
name, address, telephone numbers, fax numbers and e-mail
addresses;
- video from our in-store security
cameras;
- Credit Card or Debit Card information;
and,
- comments on the quality of the products
purchased in our stores and the quality of the service provided to our
clients;
We notify our clients of the
purposes for which their personal information is being collected, and
obtain their consent to that collection, before or at the time our clients
provide personal information to us. The only time we do not provide this
notification, or obtain an express consent, is if we are specifically
authorized by law or when a client volunteers information for an obvious
purpose (for example, producing a credit card for an in-store purchase
when the information will be used only to process the payment).
We normally collect personal
information directly from our clients. However, we may collect our clients
personal information from other persons with their consent or as
authorized by law.
Use of Personal
Information
Unless specifically authorized by
law, we will only use your personal information for the purposes for which
the information was collected. For example, we may use client contact
information to deliver goods. The law also allows us to use our clients
personal information for the purpose of collecting a debt owed to our
organization, should that be necessary.
If we wish to use or disclose
personal information for a purpose other than the purpose for which that
information was originally collected, we will obtain our clients consent
unless we are authorized by law to use or disclose the personal
information without first having obtained a new consent. We do not sell
personal information in our custody or under our control to third
parties.
Safeguarding Personal
Information
Like you, we at Liquor Stores
value your personal information. Part of valuing our clients
personal information is making sure it is protected and kept
confidential. We achieve this by:
- having our employees sign a confidentiality
agreement;
- having policies in place that regulate when
our employees can collect, use and disclose our clients personal
information;
- keeping our records in locked filing
cabinets;
- having up-to-date computer security such as
passwords, encryption and firewalls;
- having third parties, when hired, sign an
agreement not to handle personal information in a manner other than we
ourselves are authorized; and,
- retaining client personal information only
as long as is reasonable to fulfill the purposes for which the
information was collected or for legal or business
purposes.

Where required, Liquor Stores
will do its best to ensure that your personal information is correct and
kept current. If we do need to update your personal information a
customer service representative will contact you to verify your personal
information before any decisions are made or action is taken based on that
information.
If your personal information
changes, please inform us of the change and any other information you feel
is necessary. Also, if the personal information we have is
incorrect, please notify us of the correct
information.
Retention Of Personal
Information
We will keep your information as
long as is necessary to continue to meet your needs and to meet any legal
requirements we may have. Once your personal information is no
longer needed we will destroy it. When destroying personal
information we use appropriate security measures, including shredding
paper records and permanently deleting electronic
records.
Controlling Personal
Information
We believe establishing trust and
respect also comes from allowing you to control your own personal
information.
As such, we will collect
information about you on a voluntary basis. Before we collect
personal information from you, we will have you complete our consent form
which gives you an opportunity to choose whether or not to provide the
requested information.
